JazzCats is a really awesome project from hard-working people who are also awesome. It is an interdisciplinary endeavour bringing together domain experts in musicology, with Linked Data practitioners and computer scientists, and letting them learn skills and knowledge that have blurred these lines of categorization.

By bridging these projects together, JazzCats has enabled us to ask new kinds of research questions about the history of performance, and how styles and skills were adopted and adapted by jazz musicians as they meet, collaborate, inspire, and instruct each other.
